Izzet omission was tough decision for Ward
9:25am Tuesday 21st February 2012

John Ward admitted it was a tough decision to leave out Colchester United skipper Kem Izzet for their game at Yeovil Town.
The long-serving midfielder was omitted from the U’s sixteen for their trip to Huish Park despite having started the U’s previous two matches, where he helped them achieve back-to-back League One wins.
Despite travelling to Somerset with the squad, Izzet did not even make the substitutes bench for Colchester’s 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Glovers.
John-Joe O’Toole is the only U’s player currently sidelined through injury.
And the recent arrival of Martin Rowlands and Freddie Sears has further increased competition for places within the Colchester squad.
Ward said: “It was a tough one.
“Kem is my captain and he played on Tuesday (against Brentford).
“But they know that I have no favourites in there and I have to make the right decisions for the team and for the group.
“Michael Rose and Matt Heath weren’t involved either; Ashley Vincent is coming back and John-Joe O’Toole is injured.”
